| About The Undesirables (Toronto)
The Undesirables are Corin Raymond and Sean Cotton hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For more than ten years this duo has blazed an international trail that now brings them to Australia with their beguiling, haunting and entertaining show. Their songs and theatrics draw upon mystical, weird and heart felt worlds and characters, past, present, future, real and imaginary... hard to describe, but maybe, if you stumbled upon a writers tavern where Tom Waits, Jim Morrison, Charles Dickens and Ray Bradbury were sharing old stories and ale laden songs, then just maybe you might be getting close to the energy and verve of The Undesirables. After fantastic appearances at the 2008 Port Fairy and Yackandandah Festivals they return in 2009 ! |

David Ross Macdonald Best known as the drummer for the Australian folk group The Waifs, David Ross Macdonald revealed a different side of his musical persona on his 2003 debut solo album, “Southern Crossing”, a collection of original finger-style guitar instrumentals. His 2nd release "Far From Here" was selected in the Acoustic Guitar Magazines ‘Best of 2004’ reviewer’s choice and his current album "Knuckled Brass & Bone" has broken him into the Canadian Folk Festival scene. MacDonald's vocals, lyrics, and intricate fingerstyle guitar playing bring to mind a collaboration between Nick Drake and a mid-1970s Bruce Cockburn. Ross' lyrics are dark and thoughtful, and in combination with his hypnotic fingerstyle guitar work, they create evocative songs with a haunting, poignant quality. |
