Wesley Anne Concert, Sunday April 1st

Who likes cake?

Well none of us are fools to that question so I am throwing a cake competition with my good buddy and international songwriter of much acclaim, Andy White.

The cake side of the evening is of course none compulsory, but Andy and I will be contractually obliged to bring you our own eclectic mixtures and frostings  of tunes and tales to the table.

It’s going to be a warm and inviting evening, always with great food, wine, candles and coffee at “The Wes” and being a Sunday, relaxed and refined doubly so … hey, maybe you will even get to taste some cake, no joke!

I will also be joined on stage by bass clarinetist Karen Heath, while Andy will have his son on percussion, it will be mighty fine.

Tell a friend or bring your favourite muffin to;

Some nice words about Andy ;

Born in Belfast, living in Melbourne when he’s not on the road, singer-songwriter Andy White carries a 12-string guitar under his arm and wears his particular brand of Irish charm on his sleeve.

Andy has ten solo albums to his name, from ‘Rave On’ in 1986 to his current release ‘Songwriter’. He’s worked and written with the likes of Peter Gabriel, Sinead O’Connor and Neil and Tim Finn – Tim introduced Andy to Australia when the two were in folk supertrio ALT.

He has been bumping into Dave all over the world for years now and is delighted to be making a rare live appearance in Melbourne, opening for him at the Wesley Anne, Northcote, on April 1st. The two haven’t played together since Room 303 at the Marriot Hotel, with a beautiful view over Niagara Falls, last October.

Special guest with Andy is his son Sebastian on drums and percussion – who hasn’t seen Dave since watching him side-of-stage at Port Fairy last year.
